At this special time of year, it gives us reason to pause and think back on what is truly important in life, and that is the blessing of family. 

We were privileged to go to Salt Lake City and visit Temple square and ride the rail system with some of my family.  I took some soaps and some freeze dried treats and my grandson and his mom had some candies and while we were riding the train, he presented everyone on board with a bar of soap and some candy. 

It was a sheer delight to see his face beam as the people thanked him for this simple gesture.  Some people even gave him money in return which he will use to help someone else out.  We met some wonderful people who shared gifts as well with us and although it was raining and a bit chilly, we were warmed by the touch of the simple gifts of giving. 

My grandson said that he was sad when all of the gifts were gone, because he wanted to give to more people.  Surely there is nothing so delightful as serving and watching service through the eyes of a child!  

May you all take time to remember what Christmas is all about and enjoy the spirit of this season today and throughout the rest of the year.  Merry Christmas and may you all be blessed with what you need in the coming year.
